Performs project management specialist work for Department projects. Work includes coordinating the development, implementation, maintenance, and support department projects, and providing support for resource leveling, priority development, project analysis, reporting, and training. Works directly with the project manager to help define the projectandrsquo;s goals and objectives. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Essential Duties:Monitors and reviews the work of others to ensure project plans and schedules include the entire scope of work, management requirements, schedule hierarchy, and the division of responsibilityProvides technical training and guidance to project personnel on planning and scheduling of projects.Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing informationPrepares special reports by researching, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Assists in developing cost summaries for the project managers and other employersCoordinates with others to develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules to ensure projects are executed in the most efficient manner possible. Provides general support to the project manager and project team, as needed. Coordinates project meetings and conducts presentations.Assists in developing and supporting Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining, and archiving projectschedules in accordance with document retention policies.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
