Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The Work
As a System Engineer on the A&D MBSE team you will be expected to work in an Agile environment with your peers to develop system architecture in the MBSE tool Cameo. Additionally, you will be expected to decompose Prime Item Development Specification (PIDS) into system or product requirements and to develop Verification documentation for the GWS System. You will coordinate your workday with lead engineers within program processes. Your participation in model team meetings is expected, including customer focused meetings/demonstrations.

Basic Qualifications:
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience , or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience with the following:
• Working within the 'Systems Engineering V'
• Using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Exposure to MBSE Tools and Methods (specifically CAMEO and DOORS)
• Creating SysML
• Decomposing Requirements to the system or product level
Desired Skills:
• System Architecture modeling experienced with Cameo experienced preferred.
• Advanced experience with Model Based System Engineering and related tools.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
