PPT Solutions, Inc. System Safety Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama
PPT Solutions, Inc. is seeking candidates for combined System s Engineering – System Safety Engineering position in Huntsville, Alabama to support Army Utility Helicopters Program Office. Candidates must be able to capture and validate safety requirements using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques applying principles of both systems engineering and system safety engineering.
Description of Responsibilities for the System s Safety Engineer:
Plan and support integration of MBSE into requirements management processes used for aircraft modification projects including determining use cases for MBSE beyond requirements management such as model-based safety analysis, accident investigations, trade-studies, etc.
Perform independent validation through review of the integration of the safety assessments into the MBSE for functions, safety requirements, and relationships (links/traces)
Identify and scope system safety tasks for modification projects leveraging MBSE tools, existing safety assessments, and understanding of the affected aircraft, systems, and functions
Performing functional and architectural system safety assessments that apply basic system safety principles as well as UHPO policies and practices and using methodology of ARP4761 and ARP4754
Providing technical evaluation of Contractor/Original Equipment Manufacturer safety assessments for technical correctness and completeness
Develop/Review project Statement of Work and Airworthiness Qualification Specification to ensure the required system safety process and requirements are captured and planned
Support UHPO’s system safety residual risk assessment process for projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the System s Safety Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 4 years of related experience
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience as an active participation in working groups and program and design reviews
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Systems Safety Engineer:
Working knowledge of CAMEO MBSE tool
Knowledge and adaptability to SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761 assessments and processes
Working knowledge of Fault Tree Analysis tools
Experience in s oftware and avionics-based systems
