As aMaterials and Process Engineeryou’ll work on a broad range of projects that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the most hostile of environments.

In this role you will:

• Participate in and lead technical assignments related to a Parts, Materials and Processes in a high-reliability missile system

• Help oversee PMP selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis

• Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports

• Coordinate with team engineers, internal/subcontractor interfaces, leadership and MDA customer

• Oversee review of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure compliance to program requirements

• Function as PMP Control Board Co-Chair with government counterpart

• Provide Standard and Non-Standard requests to the program PMP Control Board, gaining critical closure to enable approved design releases

We're looking for:

• A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues

• Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines

• Someone willing to mentor and teach junior engineers

• Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums

• Someone with the ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Physics, Material Sciences, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

•Professional experience in the Aerospace Industry or in a related Engineering field.

•Expertise in PMP Engineering or related field (specifications, product development, qualification/screening, receiving inspection)

•Demonstrated experience in Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) to achieve functional and programmatic requirements and goals

•Demonstrated excellence in writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

•This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. US Citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

• Experience leading collaborative engineering projects to successful completion

• Ability to work independently and multi-task, with demonstrated leadership skills

• Familiarity with Missile, Mechanical, and/or propulsion Engineering across program lifecycle

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, computers and network systems

• Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR

• Basic knowledge of radiation effects on EEE devices and/or materials

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
