Perkins Technical Services, Inc. Electrical Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

General Summary: [[Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on switching and linear power supply design, battery charging and audio design. Experience with RF amps and antenna theory a plus. Position involves research, detail design, test support, and production support of new and existing designs.   • Designs electrical equipment, facilities mechanical and production issues, selects components based on availability and cost, support sales, and systems integration for military equipment.
  • Designs, and may direct engineering personnel in, fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
  • Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
  • May need to specialize in specific area of discipline, such as electrical power supplies, transmission, and distribution systems; products, such as amplifiers, RF amplifiers, transformers, control devices; or area of work, such as manufacturing, applications, or installation
  • Must be able to use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Travel to client facilities for the purpose of gathering field information and participating in design review meetings
  • Responsible for checking work to minimize duplicate efforts
  • Act as a mentor to other staff members
  • May direct the activities of other electrical engineering and design professionals
  • Other duties as assigned to include administrative and various support activities related to an engineering office environment

*Required Education and Experience: *

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or closely related field
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience in professional engineering work; 5 years experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
