Wilson Lumber Company Commercial Sales Manager in Huntsville, Alabama

Role Summary:

The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales strategies, driving profitable revenue growth, and managing customer relationships in Wilson Lumber's commercial building materials sector. This role aligns sales activities with the companys broader strategic goals, including market expansion, margin improvement, and customer relationship excellence. Managing a team of outside sales representatives, the manager ensures that the sales team meets revenue goals, maintains strong customer-centric relationships, and operates efficiently while upholding the companys core values.

Scope of the Position:

Managing a sales team of 6+ members focused on commercial sales in CSI Divisions 6 - 10, 12.

Partnering with leadership to implement strategic plans, track performance, and meet sales objectives aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue and Margin Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve targeted revenue and profit margins.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, profitable relationships with key commercial clients. Focus on customer-centric strategies such as customer stratification and lifetime value enhancement.

Collaborate with leadership to develop and adapt sales forecasts based on competitive market analysis and business goals.

Team Development: Coach and mentor the sales team through regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews. Foster continuous improvement and professional growth.

Data-Driven Sales Management: Utilize CRM (HubSpot) systems, market data, and sales analytics to drive informed decisions, track sales trends, and identify opportunities for growth.

Contract and Account Management: Oversee customer contracts and ensure compliance with terms. Proactively address customer inquiries and resolve contract-related issues efficiently.

Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales operations and cross-functional collaboration.

Proactive Communication: Maintain open, proactive communication with customers to provide updates, manage expectations, and enhance the customer experience.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Finance, and Marketing to ensure alignment in executing sales strategies across the organization.

Position Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in driving sales growth and aligning sales strategies with corporate goals.

Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing sales teams in commercial sales.

Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to strategize and adapt in dynamic market conditions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and ERP systems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or 10+ years of relevant experience in sales management.

At least 5 years of experience in building materials or commercial sales management.

Experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

Occasional travel to job sites and customer locations.
