ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLER/TECHNICIAN

Job Description
Assemble electrical components according to electrical drawings, work instructions, change orders, and other documentation using a variety of hand tools, crimpers, wire cutter/strippers, & digital volt meters.
Perform a variety of electrical assembly tasks to custom machinery and electro‐mechanical assemblies.
Examples include: wiring and testing of electrical panels and junction boxes, installation/wiring of various electrical and safety devices, routing and labeling of cables, and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
Responsible for completing project specific documents such as check out sheets, test documents, and following project specific work instructions.
Work with other technicians, engineers, project managers, and inter‐departmental staff to resolve issues.
Train and assist new employees as needed.
Exercise safe work habits & maintain a clean and safe working area.
Display good work ethics and co‐operation with management and peers.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned (e.g., making of cable assemblies, electro‐mechanical assemblies, shipping & receiving, light mechanical assembly,
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
Must know how to use common electrical assembly tools and testing equipment. Previous experience in the bending / forming of “Rigid” and “EMT” conduits desired.
Must be proficiently able to read and interpret electrical schematics and dimensioning layout drawings for installation/mounting of drives, servos, PC’s, PLC’s, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, contractors, terminals, fuse boxes or any other required industrial control devices.
Must be capable of using basic hand and power tools including drills, taps, and knock out punches as needed for mounting of components to the panel.
Must be able to do point to point wiring of internal components such as terminal blocks, relays, PLC’s, motor starters, drives, etc. utilizing electrical schematics.
Must possess at least beginner level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook), and Adobe Reader.
Must be willing to travel to customer sites (domestic and international) to support projects as needed
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA‐70E, and UL‐508 standards desired.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electrical technician in a related industry. Previous industrial control panel and machine wiring experience preferred.
Education
High school/GED required
Trade school or higher education preferred
