ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Electrical VDC Prefab Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves using computer-aided tools to develop new solutions and enhance existing designs, ensuring field teams experience easier, more efficient installations. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with practical problem-solving, working closely with manufacturing and field teams to improve installation workflows through well-optimized designs.
Design and Modeling:
Create custom components, assemblies, and prefabrication for electrical systems
Optimize designs for manufacturability and on-site installation efficiency.
Understanding blueprints of structural framing and electrical systems.
Collaboration with Field Teams:
Work directly with project managers, electricians, and installers to gather the best option of designs on a project
Iterate on designs to ensure components are easy to install, maintain, and align with safety standards.
Support the development of documentation and installation guidelines for new solutions.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement, focusing on ease of installation and labor efficiency.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop prototypes and test new concepts.
Implement design standards to align with industry best practices and company goals.
Technical Coordination and Documentation:
Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions for manufacturing teams.
Ensure designs meet compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and relevant industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of design revisions and project updates.
$90,000-$125,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction or similar preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Welding Knowledge
Basic Metallurgy Comprehension
Experience: 2-5 years in electrical design, product development, or manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in design software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or Inventor. (Optional)
Experience with electrical systems and installation methods.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working directly with field electricians or installation teams.
Knowledge of prefabrication processes and modular construction.
Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
