As an intern with Irby Utilities, you will work on projects that matter and contribute meaningfully to our results through your efforts. We believe our internship program is an amazing opportunity for students work in cross-functional teams where they will be immersed in a learning environment and empowered to bring forth new ideas with a fresh perspective. Internship Program Overview Our program provides a holistic experience that exposes our interns to our Project Services team in the broader context of our sales and operational activities. From learning our internal processes and methodologies, to understanding and delivering on critical variables, our Purchasing Interns lock into the real-world functions of the team and begin to grasp how we provide top-tier service to our customers. Professional Development: Performs various activities that contribute to the tactical efficiency of the assigned business unit. Gain an understanding of how we deliver solutions to our customers, both on a consistent and an innovative basis. Examine internal processes, raising questions and problem solving issues independently and in coordination with other team members. Example Projects within our PSG team: Supporting procurement of high-quality merchandise, expedient delivery and dependable service at optimum price. Verification of quantity and quality of stock received from manufacturer. Coordinates with salespeople and manufacturer representatives in order to resolve discrepancies and enhance accuracy. Receive on-going coaching to enhance communication, leadership, presentation, and develop department specific competencies. Leadership Exposure: meet with senior and executive leaders to learn about different areas of the business. Network: Interns will be able to grow their network and build positive working relationships. Analyze current processes and present findings with recommendations or suggestions for improvement. Qualifications: Possess an enthusiastic/self-starter attitude Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Flexible and adaptable team player Analytical mindset and strong presentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, Engineering or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 About Irby Utilities Irby Utilities is one of the three largest electrical utility distribution companies in the United States, with over $1 Billion in annual sales and over 500 employees across more than 45 branches in 27 states.
