In this role, as a Schematic Design Engineer , you will assist Engineers by performing the routine aspects of Roadway design assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company. You will work on a variety of tasks pertaining to transportation projects.
In this role you will:
Lead design tasks as part of a Schematic team
Perform horizontal and vertical roadway alignment calculations
Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in their discipline group
Research design options and document findings for Project Manager
Assist with other duties assigned by Project Managers
Attend kick-off and design review meetings, and interact with clients
Have a strong oral and writing communication skills
Have strong organization skills
Have strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Have a team-oriented and proactive attitude
Perform quantity calculations
Attend public meetings and assist Project Manager with preparing deliverables or materials to present to stakeholders
Here’s what you’ll need :
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Texas PE
5-10 years’ experience in roadway design
Microstation and Open Roads Designer (ORD) experience
Experience in utilizing computer programming to solve engineering problems
Interest in Schematic Development
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead a design team
Power Geopak and/or ORD Modeling experience preferred
