Amazon Solutions Architect, Cloud Intelligence in Houston, Texas

Description

As a Cloud Intelligence (CI) Specialist SA, you will build tooling to analyze solutions in the fast changing cloud market. You will use your technical knowledge to own and drive projects that align to current products in development, to ensure internal team members can leverage product outputs. We are looking for technical builders who love to think big and drive strategic initiatives to better enable field teams in navigating the cloud ecosystem.

The AWS Cloud Intelligence team is a specialty services organization that provides cloud compete expertise globally. We are subject matter experts (SMEs) covering top and emerging competitors, key domains, and industry segments. Cloud Intelligence enables field teams to help their customers quickly by removing both business and technical blockers in the sales cycle. We advise account teams and their customers through at scale content, gather and analyze insights surrounding comparable cloud providers, and highlight product and position gaps that our customers are experiencing to continuously improve AWS’ overall value proposition. In addition to on-demand self-service resources, the CI team provides targeted support for specific competitive opportunities through one-to-one customer engagements. This team hires SAs and BDMs who are SMEs in one or more public clouds to advise AWS field teams on the best strategies to develop compelling business cases to support customers co-existing and partnering with competing public cloud services.

This individual understands workloads and their requirements to run in the public cloud, and has the builder skills needed to own and drive CI projects forward utilizing AWS services and generative AI. You should have demonstrated the ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and think strategically about the complex business and technical needs of the customer. You should have a natural learn and be curious mindset, and be able to quickly analyze situations by asking the right questions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Understand the business and technical requirements of our customers, partners, and AWS salesforce.

  • Build cross-functional tooling to help scale competitive knowledge and content across the AWS field.

  • Utilize generative AI knowledge to build/pilot proof of concept projects, using AWS services.

  • Effectively use Foundation Models available on Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker to meet our performance needs.

  • Interact with our internal customers directly to understand the business problem, help and aid them in implementation of their ML ecosystem.

  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of historical data to help automate and optimize key processes.

  • Work hands on to build scalable cloud environment for our customers to label data, build, train, tune and deploy their models.

  • Collaborate with our engineers to build robust and scalable Generative AI solutions for business problems.

  • Presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and executive audiences.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • Experience leveraging and building products using AWS machine learning, generative AI, ETL, etc. services and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
