Long term contract and likely temp-to-hire (starting as 12 month contract but this work is on-going for years to come)
OVERVIEW:
• Our client has 3,000+ employees across the U.S. and Mexico
• Their IT department has a large backlog of Infrastructure projects currently in flight (with many more in the pipeline) and they don’t have enough Network Engineer manpower to execute. Therefore they are adding a Sr. Network Engineer to their team.
JOB DUTIES
• Planning, design, and implementation of IT and OT network infrastructure. successfully and effectively execute IT/OT network engineering projects that align with the needs of the business.
Value Delivery, Strategy, and Planning 30%
• Plan, build, and execute complex network engineering IT/OT projects to include new plants/offices, mergers/divestitures, redesigns, and data center moves.
• Identifies, evaluates, and deploys complex network technology solutions, provides feedback, makes recommendations.
• Drive innovation to sustain, automate, standardize, and mature network engineering processes by working with other network engineers and architects to identify and design impactful solutions.
• Develops, documents, and adheres to industry/enterprise best practices.
• Works collaboratively with business stakeholders, IT/Cybersecurity, and 3rd party vendors to translate business needs and execute delivery quality solutions.
• Functions as Network Engineering lead SME on assigned projects.
• Proactively identifies and addresses opportunities for improvement within the enterprise network.
Delivery and Execution 60%
• Plans, coordinates, and executes complex network infrastructure maintenance, changes, and upgrades.
• Evaluates, administers, and operates network monitoring and diagnostic equipment/tools for capacity planning, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and security purposes.
• Installs, configures, and documents complex IT/OT network systems.
• Troubleshoots, remediates, and performs root cause analysis of challenging technical issues escalated to the engineering level.
• Contacts and coordinates vendor, carrier, and remote support when necessary to resolve high impact network issues and/or outages.
• Document and report problems to appropriate management, engineers and/or peers, including non-technical audiences
Collaboration 20%
• Review and provide guidance on engineers’ designs, changes, and diagrams.
• Work with cross-functional IT and enterprise teams to build alignment and model commitment to high performance as “one team”
• Build relationship with business stakeholders, external service providers, and engineering teams; inspire ideas and exemplary solutions form inception through implementation
• Communicate with all levels of management and end-users during analysis, development, testing, and operational phases including status updates, issue identification, and approval requirements

• Knowledge of various VPN products including Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access (GlobalProtect), Pulse Secure
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems (including WhatsUp Gold, Splunk, NetBrain, Cisco DNA Center)
• Azure Cloud networking
• OT networks, ICS/SCADA environments.
Must have great communications skills because will be collaborating with project teams composed of both IT and business side employees

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00
