Expected salary range of $158,400 to $176,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This key leadership position is responsible for leading and directing a team of industry leading Business Development Managers to achieve targeted acquisition and retention goals focusing on bringing innovative and sustainable energy mgt solutions to Small and Medium Business (SMB) customers. This role involves overseeing the sales strategy for electricity, natural gas, and energy management solutions, ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer experiences, and driving revenue growth through innovative and customer-focused sales practices. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the direct sales strategy, fostering a high-performance culture, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across our commercial business.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Sales Strategy Development and Execution- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to acquire and retain SMB customers for electricity, natural gas, and energy management solutions. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and refine sales strategies accordingly. Oversee creation and execution of sales plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and financial targets.

  • Team Leadership and Management- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Development Managers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources needed to succeed. Set clear performance expectations and goals for the team, regularly monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to optimize team effectiveness.

  • Collaboration and Communication- Work closely with other departments including marketing, sales support, sales operations, product development and customer care to ensure a seamless customer experience and alignment of sales strategies with broader company objectives. Drive innovation and advancements in sales process through cross functional collaboration and project execution.

  • Reporting and Analysis- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to Sr. leadership on progress against targets. Identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions to ensure team and individual performance aligns with company goals and objectives. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer retention rates and other key metrics. Use data and analytics to drive decision- making, optimize sales efforts and drive growth.

  • Customer Relationship Management- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Address escalated customer issues and concerns promptly and effectively ensuring a positive customer experience. Utilize customer feedback and insights to drive improvements in the sales processes, products and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a sales team

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with track record for cultivating high-performing teams

  • Proficiency in sales planning, forecasting and performance analysis

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends

  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust strategies and approaches in response to rapidly changing market conditions and customer expectations

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans

  • Strong problem-solving skills and strategic mindset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field.

  • Experience with both electricity and natural gas

  • Experience with SalesForce, Genesis, REPs, QuoteWizard
