Position Summary:

The Airport Finance Manager at IAH m anages the airport's accounting and financial reporting activities . Responsibilities include accounting, general ledger, financial statement preparation, treasury, accounts receivable , and accounts payable. The position is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure the proper safeguarding of assets and maintenance of proper internal controls over financial reporting.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

Manages the accounting and financial reporting activities of the airport. Responsibilities include accounting, analytics, financial metrics p reparation, treasury, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The position is also responsibile for implementing policies and procedures to ensure proper safeguarding of assets and maintenance of proper internal controls over financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Money Room Team. The operational controller will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the money room and cash reporting. Ensure the accuracy and maintain integrity of the crew/overshort policy. Ensure that accountability for the terminal cash controls are enforced with our crewmembers. Review cash settlement reports for accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.

  • Work closely with Senior Leadership team by creating analytics on key financial metrics to improve profitability .

  • Oversee the Accounting Team. The operational controller will be responsible in ensuring that all our invoices are entered into the system and sent to corporate for payment by the deadline.

  • Review and resolve any discrepancies with invoices and/or payments.

  • Analyzes and accurately reports daily, weekly financial results to the region, sales, and corporate management in accordance with company format and time requirements.

  • Analyze Crunchtime & Mirus reports and review for accuracy and discrepancies.

  • Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and reported results. Investigates and explain book to physical adjustments.

  • Performs audits of invoices of products to ensure that the cost is accurate and accounted for properly. Report audit results weekly.

  • Prepare weekly forecasts associated to COGS.

  • Manage the United enplanements for different airports.

  • Prepare weekly results of the variance from actuals to budget and explain different strategic planning that will help achieve the company objective.

  • Manage the overall spending from Markets, Restaurants, and LBW (Liquor, Beer, and Wine) are ensure hitting our COGS targets .

  • Review and approve monthly accruals. Ensuring that accurate purchases are in the correct month.

  • Analyze and review weekly schedules to budget to ensure that all operational departments are reducing overtime and have adequate coverage. All schedules are sent to the Terminal Director for approval.

  • Work alongside with the Terminal Director providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports as necessary to help the Terminal Director achieve the daily, weekly foals.

  • Perform walkthroughs of the terminals with management to ensure that operational policies and procedures are enforced.

  • Knowledge of AAP policies and internal controls.

  • Assist in the completions of special projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

    Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years as controller or cost manager in a hospitality/food and beverage/retail environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on accounting, revenue reporting and variance analysis.

  • Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team.

  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Sound planning and organizational skills.

  • High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting systems.

  • Travel as required.
