Atlas Senior Environmental Project Manager in Houston, Texas

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our Houston, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate, develop, and maintain close client relationships including the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and municipal entities throughout Texas.

  • Develop client account plans including identification of project opportunities and new pursuits

  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies for transportation project opportunities.

  • Manage the preparation of proposals, presentations, contract procedures and client invoicing

  • Actively network and participate in professional organizations at the local and regional levels

  • Provide leadership and oversite during project executions

  • Develop creative and innovative approaches to Marketing the company’s services

  • Development and maintain close client and staff relationships

  • Oversee the delivery of transportation projects; the execution of creative approaches to project development and personal dedication to serving client needs.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering

  • Texas PE

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering or Texas Department of Transportation environment.

  • Technical expert in managing construction of large, complex Metro transportation project, including constructability reviews and claims defense.

  • Proven track record of successful project and client development

  • Experienced in preparing technical approaches and work plans (write ups) to support RFQ’s and technical proposals.

  • Inspection certifications, and associated training preferred

  • Strong Construction / Contract Administration background

  • Experience leading a team of field staff

  • Project management experience on a variety of Federal, State, County and City construction projects and contracts

  • The ability to read and understand contracts, plans, special provisions and documents as related to roadway and bridge construction.

  • Knowledgeable on State & Federal Contract Administration processes and procedures

  • Resolve or facilitate the resolution of discrepancies or problems with contract documents and issues arising from field operations

  • Create and maintains open and productive communications among subordinates, sub-consultants, Atlas management, contractors, clients and the public

  • Document the progress of the work, problems that develop, and work proactively in identifying potential problems/issues and solutions.
