MD Anderson Cancer Center Senior Administrative Assistant - Orthopaedic Oncology in Houston, Texas
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. This is a hybrid position, required to come onsite every day for at least initial three months for training/orientation. After completion of training, will require working onsite at least 2 days per week (days to be set by Department).
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to faculty member (s) including calendar, travel, correspondence, reimbursements.
Participates and assists in the patient care process by handling telephone calls from patients, referring physicians, care centers and new patient referral.
Directs inquiries to the proper patient care area.
Assists the faculty in building or maintaining their referral practice by providing professional and supportive assistance to new patients and referring physicians.
Grant and Manuscript Submissions
Coordinate all aspects of grant submissions including, but not limited to, preparing the budget and justification, biosketches, and Coeus submission; and ensuring accuracy of grant prior to submission.
Includes on-line submission of grants, reviews and annual reports, as well as requests for revisions and extensions, and interim financial reports.
Coordinate all aspects of manuscript submissions including, but not limited to, preparing the manuscript to journal specifications and online submission.
Reconciliation of Provider Accounts
- Monitor and reconcile company center activity, including account review, tracking and analysis, equipment, travel and supplies, monthly status reports and identification of potential problems.

Education
Required : High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required : Five years of administrative/secretarial experience. With preferred Associate's degree, three years of required experience and with preferred Bachelor's degree, one year of required experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
