JOB SUMMARY

Join a team working on drilling Robotics with best in class, innovative technology. Develop techniques to automate drilling equipment to improve safety, efficiency of the drilling process. Play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining a digital twin system to streamline the quality control process and enhance efficiency and fast development of control systems of Drilling Rigs. Be part of the Nabors Early Career Development Program (ECD) to fast track your career! This rotational program will provide access to advance your knowledge and skills in high-profile roles within the ACE (Actively Changing Energy) program. You will start as a full-time Robotics and Automation Software Engineer in Digital Technology. The ECD program offers rotational opportunities in key areas of digital technology during initial 12-18 months of employment, to help your knowledge and career development. Works with various departments including, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Product Design, and Software Engineering to develop the skillset required to successfully contribute to robotic technologies and equipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design software to control robotic systems for applications related to the drilling industry.

Develop a physics-based model of rig equipment in Simulink with Simscape library to simulate the dynamics of both individual components and the entire rig.

Utilize MATLAB/Simulink code generation, compilation, and real-time toolboxes to deploy digital twins on real-time targets such as real-time Linux, Speedgoat, and TwinCAT. Analyze and optimize models for high-fidelity real-time performance.

Work with SolidWorks CAD models to measure and analyze mechanical properties of assemblies. Export CAD models to engineering tools using third-party plugins for simulation and visualization.

Utilize 3D visualization software such as RVIZ and Gazebo in the ROS ecosystem to demonstrate simulation states.

Ability to analyze robotic arms and manipulators and study their forward and inverse kinematics.

Develop supporting applications and APIs using C/C and Python to integrate the digital twin with control systems and QC pipelines.

Write technical documents to record the details of the design. Create manual instructions and uses guides.

Technical consultant to business stake holders, assist in gathering requirements from customers.

Maintain product safety in all designs.

Perform design prototyping, including field implementing and testing.

Support management on intellectual property issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Degree in Mechatronic, Electrical, Mechanical engineering with related practical experience in robotics.

0-1 years of experience in modeling and control of mechanical and hydraulic and electrical systems in Simulink.

0-1 years of experience in Robotics software platforms like ROS, PickNik MoveIt, etc.

Knowledge of C, C , Python

Ability to work in Linux operating system

Familiarity with SolidWorks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MS Degree in Mechatronics, Controls, Mechanical, Electrical engineering major.

Working knowledge of Robotics

Experience developing and deploying control algorithms to real world systems

Ability to interact with engineers and field operational staff to gather information required for analysis

Effective time management

TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES

Experience with dynamic system analysis, feedback control systems (PID Control, MFA)

Experience with modeling/statistical software such as Simulink, MATLA and Labview Machine Learning Toolbox.

Familiar with microcontrollers, PLC, sensor technology, machine vision, 3D sensors and associated data processing libraries

Robotics toolkits like ROS, and interfacing them to PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens) or other controllers.

Linux with real time extensions

While this position is primarily based in a professional office environment, travel to yards and rigs is essential and required.

• 25% travel is expected with valid passport/domestic and international travel may be required.
