Job Title: Quality Control Technician (Nights)

Job Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet the specified standards and requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and quality of the manufacturing process by preventing defective parts from being used.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming parts and materials

  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformances

  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding any issues

  • Ensure that all received parts comply with company quality standards and customer requirements

  • Implement and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality inspections

  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to resolve any quality issues

  • Provide feedback and support to the production team regarding part quality and usability

  • Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy

  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or calibration needs

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment

  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma/equivalent

  • 3-5 recent years of QC experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3-5 recent years of experience with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

  • Ability to inspect parts for defects, damage, and conformity to specifications using various measuring tools and equipment

  • Previous experience entering data in systemic inventory system

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing environment where you will spend 75% of the time on the shop floor and the rest in an office environment. This is a nightshift position with hours from 4:30 AM to 3:00 AM, including mandatory overtime when required. The role involves working on Saturdays and some Sundays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $28.60
