We are currently looking for a Process Engineer III/Senior for our Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This Process Engineering position provides advanced technical support to Engineering and Construction project teams for midstream natural gas, brine, freshwater, steam, and petrochemical applications. Responsibilities will include preliminary scoping of processes and process equipment related to project design requirements, reviewing P&IDs, developing and reviewing equipment datasheets, assisting with the procurement of process equipment and pumps, creating and reviewing facility instrumentation technical specifications, overseeing field installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment required for facility operation. This position will take a lead role in the development of liquid (brine and ethylene) pump purchase specifications, and liquid service design and construction specifications. Other tasks may include supporting Operations with technical question which may include problem solving, technical support, troubleshooting, and modification and optimization of existing facilities. Must be able to work in a team environemtn and provide technical support across a variey of projects and systems. The role requires frequent (1 – 2 times per month) short term travel (1-3 days) with infrequent (1 – 2 times per year) long term travel (2-4 weeks with travel home on weekends provided).

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical knowledge of midstream natural gas, brine, freshwater, steam, and liquid petrochemical transmission systems and facilities including compressor stations, pump stations, measurement, storage, wells, and treatment facilities.

  • Experience in specifications and technical description of petrochemical processes, and equipment.

  • 10-20 years of engineering experience in the above

  • Demonstrated ability to work with other functional groups on projects and initiatives.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be self-driven with strong organization, prioritization, and time management s kills.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

    PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with petrochemical processing facilities or midstream applications.

  • Experience with petrochemical pump specifications, design, and technical applications.

  • Technical knowledge of gas transmission equipment and facilities.

  • Experience with salt dome storage development and operation for both natural gas and petrochemical storage.

  • Experience with dehydration equipment, flare systems, thermal oxidizers, and other emissions control equipment related to natural gas and petrochemical transmission and storage.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
