MD Anderson Cancer Center Principal Peoplesoft Systems Analyst - Supply Chain / Inventory Management in Houston, Texas

The Principal ERP Analyst is responsible for leading and/or participating in business process and data analysis efforts in order to support our Institutional PeopleSoft FSCM and third part related systems. The Principal BSA leads and/or provides expertise following industry best practices in defining, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting solutions for clinical, research, and/or financial applications at M D Anderson. The role provides oversight and leadership to our technical project team members, as well as other IT professionals both inside and outside the IS Division. The position is responsible for project management duties as assigned. This position is responsible for the daily production support of installed software, the on-call recovery procedures and documentation for such software, user support, and project leader responsibilities as assigned. This position requires broad based business process knowledge with the experience and expertise to utilize that knowledge to design and implement programmatic solutions to business requirements. This position contributes to the development of standards and processes that other team members follow. This position mentors others with respect to design and development of solutions. This position leads team members or projects serving as the key subject matter expert in their field. It mentors and directs staff involving their area of expertise. The Principal BSA works with individuals in the department, IS Division, as well as customers outside of the IS Division to provide technical guidance and alternatives to other analysts in the development of multiple complex data management and business applications and platforms. The Principal BSA also provides guidance and support in the implementation of data management, integration, and reporting initiatives involving PeopleSoft data and interfaces across other applications and platforms within MD Anderson's portfolio of software.

Service Competencies

Leads our PeopleSoft FSCM implementation initiatives including facilitating meetings with our customers, lead standard project implementation processes including requirements gathering, solution design, gap analysis, functional design specifications for our system needs, system configuration, testing, training, and complete detailed documentation leveraging standardized templates. Provide consulting and system support throughout the project life cycle to our business partners by conveying industry trends, enterprise technology strategy and define technical solutions which meet the needs of the business. Stay abreast on business and technology trends to understand impact on our current service line portfolio. Work with enterprise architects, project teams, functional and technical analysts to design solution architecture that meets operational requirements and is scalable, easily maintained, secure and highly available. Work with other Architects and Project Teams to facilitate alignment among architecture decisions. Develop and produce architecture artifacts, technical designs, strategy documents and other technical artifacts.

Be able to identify the information needed to clarify a problem or situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and use skillful questioning to draw out the information. Be able to express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others. Speaks clearly and can be easily understood while using appropriate grammar and choice of words in oral speech. Organizes and expresses ideas clearly in oral speech and maintains eye contact when speaking with others. Summarizes or paraphrases his/her understanding of what others have said to verify understanding and prevent miscommunication. This is key when gathering requirements, writing specifications and conducting meetings with customers. Team collaboration guidance to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support. This is key in order to devise a solution that is satisfactory with the customer.

Support PeopleSoft FSCM applications productions and non-production databases. This support includes but not limited to, development, implementations, upgrades, and testing. This position is responsible for leading and facilitating meetings around our daily production support of installed software, the on-call recovery procedures and documentation for such software, user and technical support, and technical project management responsibilities as assigned. The ability to identify the information needed to clarify a problem or situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and use skillful questioning to draw out the information. In addition, clear and concise knowledge of how the products PeopleSoft and third-party applications work technically in order to solution issues in the production databases. Development of solutions deliverables are delivered timely. Technically stay abreast of new functionality and industry trends and standards.

Team Accountability

Holds or participates in regular PeopleSoft FSCM project/work sessions with staff and business users to discuss priorities. Mentors and leads the staff to improve the current state of the business and systems knowledge. This will include updates to critical documentation of config guides, business process flows, testing scripts, technical design, and any additional needed project documentation.

Team Oversight - Provide clear direction and priorities, clarify roles and responsibilities within the PeopleSoft FSCM team.

Other duties as assigned

Education Required: Bachelor's degree.

Experience Required: Seven years of progressive software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, domain, or Epic software, to include two years lead/supervisory experience. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.

Preferred Experience: Peoplesoft, Supply Chain Management /Warehouse Management / Inventory Management / Point of Use. ERP analyst experience (PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday, Lawson)

Total twelve years of experience in healthcare software systems implementation and support, business/systems process analysis and design with five years' experience at MD Anderson or seven years of equivalent scope and role in other healthcare institution or industry.
