Cimarron Software Services, Inc. Manufacturing Engineer in Houston, Texas

Cimarron is seeking aManufacturing Engineerto support an Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team in Huntington Beach, CA. The selected candidate for this position will help lead the development of next-generation electronics for optical sensing systems for airborne and space platforms.

Key Duties:

  • Support manufacturing engineering and electro-mechanical engineering integration activities.
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Perform structural andintegration engineering for the entire lifecycle of the product, including support of ConOps development and product design, development, and testing.
  • Provide guidance and direction to develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Support project management activities, including schedule development, status reporting, and coordination of engineering and development activities.
  • Interface with customers, internal/external suppliers, partners, and executive management for the purpose of technical collaboration, reviews and reporting of status.
  • Lead analyses to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Lead and coordinate analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Lead, develop, maintain, and identify improvements for the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, software configuration management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Plan and lead research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Assist with the investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

TRAVEL Up to 25% REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Experience with all phases of structural engineering including a broad knowledge of design, stress analysis, certification, and engineering principles.
  • Experience collaborating with other Integrated Product Teams to execute a strategy of growth, on-time delivery, and technical excellence as well as extensive experience in performing engineering work.
  • 5 or more years of experience in mechanical, structural, andintegration engineering.
  • 5 or moreyears of experience with Production Quality and Mission Assurance.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Bachelor of Sciencefrom an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience applying structures andintegration engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
  • Experience writing requirements for mechanical systems.
  • Experience writing Production Quality and Qualificat on plans.
  • Experience developing Mission Assurance plans.
  • Experience with Technology Development to enhance Production Quality and Mission Assurance, including requirements definition for QA, MA software, systems, and tools.
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal andwritten communication.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
  • Master's degree or higher.
