A role in Finance Systems Innovation & Process Excellence means working with Finance, Information Technology, and other functional leaders to jointly develop solutions that optimize business value and support key strategies that are vital for the company and for the experiences we create for our accounting teams.

Reporting to the Director Finance Systems and based in Houston, Texas, as the Manager Finance Process Improvement Projects you will oversee the program management and governance of process improvement opportunities across Finance. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about process excellence and emerging technologies in the finance field, who is comfortable working with a dynamic team environment, and who will welcome the opportunity to collaborate cross functionally with other teams.

The following are job duties expected of the Manager Finance Process Improvement Projects:

  • Advances process, performance, and technology enhancements to achieve continuous improvement goals within the Accounting organization.
  • Establishes and implements Accounting project framework and oversight.
  • Utilizes process mining techniques to analyze, visualize, and optimize existing workflows and business processes.
  • Works with customers and other functional experts to determine critical areas where improvement projects are needed.
  • Leads change management efforts including communication, documentation, and training required to execute improvement projects.
  • Partners with internal and external stakeholders to keep up with emerging technologies and shares them with customers to identify areas of application.
  • Handles Accounting communications and OxyNet portal management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in accounting and/or Finance Systems support and leadership roles.
  • Proficient in utilizing various enterprise software and analytical tools, including SAP for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), OneStream for consolidation and planning, Power BI for data visualization, Python and R for data analysis and automation, and SQL for database querying and manipulation.
  • Solid knowledge of finance processes, system requirements, controls, and accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance processes, enhance performance, and leverage technology effectively to drive continuous improvement within the Accounting organization.
  • Proven track record of working closely with customers and cross-functional experts to identify critical areas for improvement projects and prioritize initiatives based on organizational goals.
  • Innovative thinking and a willingness to not be limited by previous solutions.
