METECS IT Help Desk Support Technician - Part-Time in Houston, Texas
METECS is an engineering company, headquartered in Houston, TX, just outside the gates of NASA’s Johnson Space Center. We are seeking a motivated and skilled part-time IT Help Desk Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Deploy, maintain, and improve internal documentation, integration pipelines, and company IT infrastructure
Maintain ticketing systems, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
Offer end-user support and assist with various IT tasks
Collaborate independently and in small groups without daily oversight
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Information Technology or related technical field experience
1-3 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role
Experience with Linux and Windows System Administration
Some experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems
Familiarity with diagnosing and repairing desktop and laptop hardware issues
Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues and configure network settings
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a professional environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, etc.)
ITIL Foundation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Demonstrated experience in maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure
Ability to work in-office Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
