The Hunton Group in Houston, TX ( www.huntongroup.com ) is seeking to hire a skilled and proactive IT Desktop Support Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and dail y support to our organization's users, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of computer systems and related peripherals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, customer service orientation, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day support for desktop systems and related infrastructure at our Westpark location, including hardware, software, and network components.

  • Coordinate and execute installations, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimal functionality and performance.

  • Facilitate the creation and management of Active Directory (AD) accounts/users and Exchange accounts/mailboxes within O365 and on-premise servers, ensuring seamless access and communication capabilities for users.

  • Travel to our Greens Rd. location as needed to address support issues and maintain consistency across sites.

    Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • 5-7 years of experience supporting diverse software/hardware products

  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 Suite, particularly OneDrive

  • Expertise in rebuilding and configuring desktops and laptops.

  • Ability to install and manage network printers

  • Knowledge of network protocols and shares

  • Experience with VMWare virtualization technology

  • Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management

  • Competence in Outlook/Exchange for email and communication systems

  • Understanding of Cisco VOIP systems

  • Proficiency in managing Terminal Servers

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities

  • Preferable knowledge of Linux/Unix systems

  • Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches is advantageous

    Education and/or Experience (required):

  • Bachelor's/Associate's degree in IT, CS, MIS, or equivalent work experience

  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone regularly.

  • Requires frequent sitting and reaching with hands and arms.

  • Occasional standing and walking may be required.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Specific vision abilities such as close vision and ability to adjust focus are necessary for this role.
