JOB SUMMARY
As an intern within the Environmental Health, Monitoring, and Observability team, you will assist in ensuring the optimal performance and availability of IT services and systems. This role involves collaborating with team members to support our monitoring and observability frameworks, contributing to uptime, system reliability, and proactive issue resolution. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and monitoring tools, working in a dynamic environment to support mission-critical systems and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in monitoring IT systems to ensure uptime, availability, and performance
- Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain dashboards for system observability
- Contribute to the identification and resolution of system performance issues using monitoring tools
- Help analyze performance data to improve system reliability and customer experience
- Assist in documenting system performance metrics and processes for future reference
- Support the creation and enhancement of alert management processes for faster response to system issues
- Contribute to developing best practices for system health and observability across the organization
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the seamless integration of monitoring solutions
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret system performance data
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new monitoring tools and observability platforms
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science) or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and system performance metrics
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk) is a plus
- Desire to learn about monitoring frameworks, uptime management, and observability solutions
