Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking qualified psychologists to join our excellent faculty team at UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC) and the newly openedJohn S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center at UTHealth Houston. The position also provides opportunities for exceptional teaching and clinical supervision for psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents. Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Administer proficiently psychological measures such as the MMPI, PAI, WAIS/WISC, and other tests to patients and completion of assessment reports promptly.

  • Conduct group therapy and short-term solution-focused individual therapy using a variety of evidence-based modalities for depression, anxiety, substance use, psychosis, personality disorders, and crisis management.

  • Supervise and teach psychology trainees including interns, practicum students, fellows, and psychiatry residents.

  • Provide staff training and milieu consultation as needed.

  • Participate in clinical, research, and educational missions of the department.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications:

  • PsyD or Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.

  • Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) as a psychologist consistent with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

  • Clinical experience with both adults and children/adolescents preferred.

  • Experience with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) is a plus!

Faculty appointments at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor are available and offered depending on the applicant’s qualifications and credentials.
