Your Responsibilities as an Industrial Hygiene (IH) Scientist 3: Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessments o Chemical Exposure/Air Monitoring o Noise dosimetry and sound level surveys o Indoor Environmental Quality o Personnel and Area monitoring o Hazardous Building Material Sample Collection o Understand and evaluate the hierarchy of controls o Use active and passive air sampling methods o Use direct-reading data-logging equipment to capture field data, download, and interpret results o Local exhaust ventilation evaluations o Interface with client personnel to understand processes, controls, points of exposure, etc. o Develop standard reports including observations, results, conclusions, and appropriate recommendations o Support entry of IH exposure data into client databases o Leverage in-house mobile technology to support air monitoring, moisture mapping, bulk samples, and other types of assessments o Support development of proposals for typical scope IH assessments using provided templates o Interface with client employees from various levels of organization to obtain samples and observations necessary to delivery scope of work Gather, analyze, interpret data, and compare results to applicable regulatory and recommended occupational exposure levels (OELs), prepare appropriate recommendations based on regulatory requirements and industry best practices Asbestos Assessments o Asbestos sampling and reporting possible Lead-Based Paint Inspections o Lead sampling o Clearance testing Develop professional written reports including o Presentation and interpretation of results following Apex and/or client standard templates o Recommendations to support regulatory compliance and workplace health and safety o Field observations o Employee Notification Letters Order appropriate equipment and media based on provided scope of work. What we're looking for: BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field MS in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational health preferred 2-6 years of experience with industrial hygiene field sampling and data collection Experience must include personnel exposure assessments Experience with industrial hygiene, noise, asbestos, and lead sampling Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required Familiarity with industrial hygiene sampling equipment such as sample pumps, sound level meters, noise dosimeters, RAE and TSI family equipment, etc. required Strong communication skills Self-motivated and resourceful Capacity to learn new field assessment equipment and associated software Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 40-hour HAZWOPER certification optional but value added Experience conducting asbestos surveys optional but value added State Asbestos Inspector license optional but value added Apex Companies, LLC is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
