Work expectations:
Research design options and document findings
Prepare drainage plans, detail drawings and project specifications.
Review drainage plans, calculations and utility research and coordination
Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group
Assist with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers
Have strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Have a team-oriented attitude
Perform quantity calculations
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
Coursework related to hydrology, drainage design and water resources analysis
Working knowledge of the principles of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
Ideally, you will also have:
Experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D) and H&H design software (HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GIS, OpenRoads Designer Drainage and Utilities)
Previous internship with a municipality, DOT or engineering consultant focused on relevant projects.
