Siemens Energy Control & Instrumentation Engineer in Houston, Texas

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will serve as a control and instrumentation engineer for our industrial service business. Collaborating with a team of experienced engineers, drafters, marketing, and supply chain personnel, you will develop and implement engineered designs and solutions to help our customers meet their challenges for operating plant improvements and carbon-reduction initiatives.

How You’ll Make anImpact

  • Supportthe Siemens Energy Industrial Application steam turbine modernizationbusiness with detailed control and instrumentation engineering design andanalysis for new valves and/or upgrading existing steam turbine operatingequipment.

  • Performthe required calculations, direct drafting, and release engineeringdrawings and instructions to the manufacturing and supply chain network.

  • Provideengineering quote support to the marketing organization. Lead and/orsupport steam turbine and valve customer-order engineering and R&Dprojects by performing calculations, ensuring drawings are issued torequired dates, and completing tasks within allocated budgets.

  • Providetechnical instructions to manufacturing, supply chain, or field servicefor disposition of product deviations. Develop unique repair solutions tomeet customer requirements, including cost and schedule demands in a safeand accurate manner. These typically include controls solution, partreplacements, or component modifications. Establish associated engineeringtask plans.

  • Createinstructions for new engineering drawings. Create review, modify, andsign-off engineering drawings. Direct drafting personnel in day-to-dayactivities.

  • Providetechnical instructions to the field in support of turbine installation ortroubleshooting activities. Provide technical support and leadership forroot cause investigations.

What You Bring

  • Abachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • 5+years of engineering experience, preferably on controls andinstrumentation of rotating equipment.

  • Afundamental understanding of control and instrumentation engineeringprinciples required, with focus onelectrical/hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical controls, wiring diagrams,electrical schematics, piping & instrumentation diagrams, logicdiagrams, control narratives and controls component selection. Strongorganizational and analytical skills. Detail-oriented and ability toprioritize work and multitask effectively.

  • Abilityto assess technical risk based on available data and/or calculationresults. Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, andmotivated to drive change and foster an environment to help achievebusiness results. Motivated to work well in a team setting as well asindependently.

  • NXCAD software and Solid Modeling skills preferred, but not required.

  • Applicantsmust be legally authorized for employment in the United States withoutneed for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. SiemensEnergy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible forinternal transfers.

This job may be in New York. Siemens Energyoffers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off andholiday pay. The base salary range for this positionin New York is $91,600 - $185,000 and the annual incentive target is 10% ofbase salary.

Specific offers are determined by variousfactors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs.Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensationdepends on each individual’s qualifications.
