The Cloud Engineer serves in an advanced technical role for IT cloud and on-premises systems engineering and support tasks. This includes enterprise hybrid IT operations, handling incidents, performing tasks, implementing solutions, and leading projects. Work scope range includes project lead engineer and/or individual contributor in primary support of cloud computing as it relates to end-user computing, systems administration, networking, telecommunications, storage administration, virtualization, automation, and backup/recovery.
Planning, designing, and implementing on-prem and cloud-based solutions. This includes working with the business to determine needs, technical requirements, budget, and presenting a course of action.
Implementing solutions in accordance with industry best practices and our security requirements.
Handing off implemented solutions to operational teams with needed support, documentation, and understanding.
Troubleshoot complex applications and solutions.
Provide consulting to the business and IT teams with regards to solutions, questions, and advice.
Provisions, deploys, and troubleshoots network (vlan/vpc/vnet/routing/switching) and server infrastructure (physical, virtual, cloud (IaaS).
Working in tandem with our engineering team and global cloud centers of excellence to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into larger problems.
Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
Creating documentation for IT and end-users.
Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
Collects and analyzes real-time network/system monitoring and system health check information.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
3+ years of enterprise experience in Cloud, Sr. Systems Engineer or related role with hands-on demonstrated ability and experience architecting, building, and implementing strategic cloud infrastructures on both AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms, is required.
3+ years of direct working experience with at least 4 of the following:
In-depth experience with AWS and/or Azure
Strong Windows system administrator background including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, application management, etc.
Strong scripting ability in PowerShell or similar.
Networking experience in LAN/WAN (Cisco preferred, but not required) Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar infrastructure as code experience.
Possession of industry certifications/licenses strongly preferred (MCSE Azure, MCSA Azure, AWS CSA, AWS CSysOpsA, CCNA, CCNP, PMP)
