What you'll be doing

As the Client Investment Analyst, you will primarily be responsible for client-facing performance reports. You will be responsible for providing analytical support to the investment management team, work in conjunction with a senior associate to report on client portfolios, actively monitor portfolios and allocations, and produce reports to keep the office and firm informed on assets under management, strategy performance, and account activity.

How you'll succeed

  • You will be Generating, preparing, updating, and maintaining client performance reporting - performance of mutual funds, proprietary CIBC Private Wealth Management funds, alternative investments; asset allocation snapshots/transitions; total portfolio performance.

  • Utilize internal systems, Bloomberg Terminal, and third-party sources for data gathering.

  • You must be proficient with utilizing Excel for report generation, updating, and maintenance.

  • Monitor client asset allocations for adherence to investment policy statement, internal strategy. Re-balance allocations by buying/selling securities, when necessary.

  • Create general strategy performance reporting – periodic reports on internal and external strategies reported to senior leadership to track performance, assets under management, etc.

  • Provide clients with regular updates on their portfolios and investment performance.

  • You will work closely with portfolio managers, Senior analysts, and other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality investment services.

  • Conduct market research and analysis on various asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternative investments.

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to senior analysts and portfolio managers.

Who you are

  • You have a B.A. or B.S. degree. Accounting, finance, economics majors preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in Investment analysis, financial services or related area.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Report are client facing.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, such as Excel, Bloomberg, or similar platforms.

  • Quantitative reasoning and ability to work with and manipulate quantitative data.

  • Knowledge of MS Office Productivity suite – particularly Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to clients.

  • Professional certifications such as CFA or Series 7/63 are a plus.
