Job Summary and Qualifications

The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides skilled assistance to the Occupational Therapist in accordance with American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice and Texas Practice Act.

What you will do in this role:

  • Provides quality care it patient based on established POC/Goals

  • Clinical competence in treating a variety of acute care clients-orthopedic, neurological,, medical

  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records documentation

  • Strong communication skills with internal/external customers

  • Exhibits Professional Behavior

What qualifications you will need:

  • Experience with Orthopedic and Neurological, and medical surgical patients a plus; this is a level 2 trauma facility

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting required; new grads with clinical rotations in acute care may be considered

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Associate Degree from an accredited OTA program required

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in the state of Texas
