Job Title: Building Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the building's facilities at a customer site. This includes preventative maintenance on electrical components, VFDs, plumbing, boilers, HVAC units, and other building systems. The role involves addressing customer requests for various tasks, ranging from electrical and plumbing work to adjusting computer monitors. A significant part of the job is successfully navigating different client personalities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components, VFDs, plumbing, boilers, and HVAC units.

  • Address customer requests for various odd jobs around the building.

  • Navigate and manage interactions with different client personalities.

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Handle plumbing tasks and repairs.

  • Respond to and complete tasks as requested by clients, ensuring their needs are met.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in building/facility maintenance.

  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and repair.

  • Strong plumbing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with clients and manage diverse personalities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with motor controls.

  • Certification or experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or EPA.

  • Knowledge of Central Plant/AC units.

  • Carpentry skills.

Work Environment

The role is based on-site at a high-profile client's headquarters, within a building housing over 100 office personnel. The culture emphasizes always responding positively to client requests, ensuring their satisfaction. The team consists of two Building Engineers and one Building Chief on-site. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a polo shirt. The position involves a Monday to Friday day shift, with three staggered shifts each week: 7:00am - 4:00pm, 9:00am - 6:00pm, and a third shift usually on call.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00
