CenterWell is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant , in this role you will be the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. As a part of the Clinical Care Team you will engage with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant 2 makes a difference in people's lives, administers prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a Physician.

Job Functions:

  • Performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system

  • Taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site

  • Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses

  • Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows

  • Schedule appointments for patients

  • Proficient in EMR process

Required Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care

  • Active Medical Assistant Certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or as a Registered Medical Assistant/RMA or Medical Assistant Experience willing to obtain certification within 1yr of employment

  • Bilingual English/Spanish- Must be able to speak, read, and write in both languages without limitations or assistance.

  • Language Proficiency Test (English/Spanish) : Candidate must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. These tests must be completed after an interview and before an offer is extended.

  • Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment

  • Experience with MS Outlook

  • CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience

  • Experience with HEDIS

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

  • Previous experience in a geriatric setting

  • 1-2 years' experience with EMR and ECW

Working hours : Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Additional Information

  • An active RMA or CMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, NHA, ARMA, NAHP, AMT, NAHT, NCCT, or AAH (Please note if you are currently certified, some CMA and RMA programs may still require completion of Humana approved certification program within one year from hire date)

  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

  • Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.

  • Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
