KBR is looking for a Benefits Director who is an innovative thinker, and collaborative and strategic partner who thrives in a fast paced, complex global benefits group. The Benefits Director is someone who has excellent partnership skills and can build rapport and drive results through accountability in a dynamic, agile environment.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Lead and support the day-to-day administration and compliance of employee Health and Welfare and Retirement benefits while ensuring the plans and programs are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Manage the annual enrollment process to include systems changes, employee communications and meetings.
Manage internal and external partner relationships, including contract negotiations, union negotiations, acquisitions, and other projects as assigned.
Experience with benefit program and plan design at large multi-national global company. Works with internal and external partners on implementations and/or changes.
Provide strategic and impactful insights and leadership for all benefit operations that interlock with other internal/external/combined processes and teams (e.g. leaves of absence, payroll, outsourcing, HRIS, Accounting, legal, etc). Partner to develop and build new and creative approaches to support needs.
Continually monitor and understand current and emerging market trends for benefit program delivery and optimization. Work closely with the Benefits team, US, global and local consultants, and vendors to identify potential opportunities and gaps. Propose and lead initiatives that are aligned to longer term objectives.
Comfortable with budget, costs and actuarial assumptions for benefits. Work well with accounting and finance to allocate costs/savings appropriately.
Engage as a strategic partner regarding benefits to the HR/People Team and business professionals throughout the company.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of benefits offerings through employee surveys, benchmarking, and market analysis.
Experience tracking billing invoices and spend to ensure alignment with the budget. Provide regular monthly/quarterly budget updates.
Evaluate program utilization, spend and ROI to ensure offering is cost effective, competitive and adds value.
Participate in various companies related needs as identified such as committees, employee resolution solutions, etc.
Prepare and present regular reports on benefits programs to senior management. Lead and participate in employee, HR and business meetings as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or other related areas required
Minimum 10 years of experience in a corporate environment is required
Minimum 5 years of experience in U.S. health and welfare benefits in a complex, global public company is required. Global benefits experienced is a plus
Strong knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, IRS Tax Code, 5500s, FMLA , USERRA and other relevant laws.
Knowledge of vendor performance management, cost benefit analysis and budget management experience
Exceptional communication skills to partner with US and global teams as needed
Presentation development using PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to use data insights and metrics to create rationale for recommendations
Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills are required
Problem solving and collaboration skills are critical and experience collaborating in a multinational setting is preferred.
Workday and SAP experience is a plus
