TURNER & TOWNSEND INC Associate Director, Cost Management in HOUSTON, Texas
- Provide quality assurance on the cost management deliverables to the client per the service agreement.
- Produce monthly portfolio reports and present to client utilizing tools MS excel.
- Mentor and train in Design Economics and Cost Planning; Construction technology and environmental services; Contract Practice; Procurement strategy and bid management; Project controls and reporting; Quantification and costing of construction works; Contract Administration; Risk Management and Value Management.
- Perform Line Management and Commission Management duties including supporting leadership with business development, account management and financial performance objectives.
- Deliver cost management, to include cost estimating, cost plans, procurement and bid management; project controls and reporting; risk management and value management on real estate projects utilizing tools MS Excel, Bluebeam, ebuilder, AGTEK, RS Means, NECCA.
- Prepare proposals and balancing day-to-day client needs with the available resources and provide forecasts of resource requirements.
- Work with the AIA suite of contract documents including detailed knowledge of: A133 and A141.
- Understand and implement supplementary contract documents including lien waivers; bailment agreements; bills of sale etc, where they are required and the different state requirements for such documents where applicable.
- Lead and coach junior staff in cost management skills, including proposal review, cost audit, risk mitigation, change order evaluation, GMP and RTA analysis, and contractor invoicing. Plan and implement training programs to expand cost management teams and enhance their performance. Identify and propose value engineering and cost control solutions for various projects.
- Manage revenue, profit margins and oversee the management of team resources to ensure that client expectations are met.
- Develop business with new clients, and cross-selling to develop new service lines with existing clients.
- Use commission management applications including D365, CEP, Advance and iTrent, Concur.
- Perform work using Microsoft Office, e-Builder; PMWeb; Procore; Blubeam, AGTEK, RS Means, Primavera P6.
Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Related Field and 6 years of experience in job offered or 6 years of experience as a
Sr. Cost Manager, Cost Management or any other job title performing the following job duties:
Assisting with negotiating costs;
Providing visual representations of costs;
Producing tender lists;
Assisting in the production of bid documents;
Creating and maintaining unit rates for each construction element;
Reviewing scopes of work to assess any redundancies in the design process and recommending ways to reduce costs;
Reviewing and verifying contractor and subcontractor pricing, costs and proposals;
Performing cost audits;
Conducting background research and benchmark against historical data;
Identifying outliers, trends and calculating key performance measures;
Analyzing project performance metrics to ensure accordance with budgetary restrictions; and
