Emerson Assembly Supervisor in Houston, Texas
Are you an Assembly Supervisor seeking career growth? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Located at our manufacturing facility in Houston, TX, you will oversee and manage a team of hourly employees in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, production, and quality goals are met or exceeded. In this role, you will directly manage production employees, promote safety awareness, and motivate the team to achieve high productivity levels. You will also collaborate with other departmental supervisors and team leads to address and communicate any production-related issues.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Supervise assembly employees to ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards
Work closely with Engineering, Machine Shop Supervisor and Materials department to resolve issues.
Schedule and conduct daily toolbox meetings
Ensure productivity, safety, and quality key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
Follow established company policies and Quality System procedures, ensuring products meet specifications and rejecting those that do not.
Train new personnel in various assembly areas to ensure skill development and process understanding
Implement and support 5S +1 and Lean initiatives to improve workplace organization and efficiency.
Close jobs and ensuring all materials are properly issued.
Develop and maintain clear work instructions for assembly processes.
Provide assistance in production as necessary to meet operational goals.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
Diploma in any related field
3+ years of job-related Assembly supervisory experience
Ability to read and understand reports, blueprints, and transition sheets.
Electrical wiring experience
Good mechanical skills
Ability to fairly enforce the rule
Ability to train and motivate employees
Strong planning, organization, problem solving, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience including direction, engagement, and coaching
Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English)
Ability to work in the US without need for sponsorship now or in the future
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
4+ year bachelor’s degree. and a minimum of 1+ years or more of experience in manufacturing with similar assembly supervisory responsibilities.
ISO experience
Previous Oracle experience and solid computer skills
