Description
Our client, a university in downtown Houston is seeking an efficient, detail-oriented Entry Level Accounts Payable Analyst to join their dynamic team. This position plays an integral part in our finance operations and will be responsible for some of the more complex accounts payable tasks in accordance with standard procedures. You will be expected to handle queries concerning payment processing, provide direction to lower-level accounts payable analysts, and achieve compliance with university and state rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit a variety of payment vouchers such as purchase, travel, credits, and those related to purchase order encumbrances or Procurement Card (P-Card)/Travel Card transactions.
Handle system setups including hierarchy, credit card information, user profile, and workflow approval.
Maintain strict compliance with policies and regulations via thorough independent review.
Collaborate with university community and vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth payment processes.
Process vouchers for centrally billed invoices and university contracted vendors.
Manage credit card applications, maintenance, and transaction overrides as needed.
May occasionally provide work guidance to Accounts Payable Section staff.
Undertake other job-related tasks as required.
Requirements
The role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline. This education is typically achieved through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program.
At least one (1) year of directly job-related experience is required.
