GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Compiles vehicle maintenance repair orders and computes parts and labor; prepares and
maintains related records; prepares and presents reports on various topics related to the work;
schedules, monitors and coordinates scheduled maintenance on vehicles; inputs data to and
retrieves data from departmental computer system; ensures warranty and recall work is
performed on vehicles; estimates and monitors vehicle accident repairs and costs; acquires and
monitors City surplus equipment; monitors contract parts and labor pricing; maintains
departmental timesheets; generates vehicle analysis and financial reports; processes receipt of
goods as assigned; performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Administration of the documentation in the proprietary asset tracking software database. This
duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
2. Coordination, processing and distribution of the preventive maintenance schedule. This duty
is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
3. Accident documentation, estimating, negotiating, and ensuring proper repair of damage to
city assets. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
4. Direct contact with insurance companies and Arkansas Municipal League for insurance
claims. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
5. Receives cash, checks, and electronic payments from a variety of sources and documents for
submittal to Finance. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
6. Acquires and processes the sale of all City surpluses. This duty is performed daily, about
10% of the time.
7. Creates and presents reports for all departments related to asset management. This duty is
performed daily, about 10% of the time.
8. Assembles accident review committee packet for regular meetings. This duty is performed
monthly, about 10% of the time.
9. Assist Department Head with analysis and financial information. This duty is performed daily,
about 5% of the time.
10. Pulls records from time station program and enters into New World payroll module. This
duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
11. Maintains department filing system. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc.
Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school
specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or
training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and
small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the
organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Abilit y to apply concepts such as fractions,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram formats.

Must possess a valid Arkansas driver\'s license and a clean driving record.
