WorkSource Oregon Sanitation Technician I in Hood River, Oregon

The sanitation technician role is responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation of assigned processing areas, equipment and facility. This position is responsible for completion of all necessary assigned department paperwork. Essential Functions: ***Follows all safety rules and regulations, including the use of all personal protective equipment and chemical guidelines, and immediately notifies supervisor of any unsafe condition or equipment. ***Understands and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating ***Procedures, ensuring cleaning specifications are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. ***Cleans and sanitize food processing areas and equipment as needed. ***Stock GMP supplies, hair nets, ear plug, hand soap, paper towels and dump trash and recycling ***Clean break room, production office, keep garbage compactor area clear from debris, pick up trash outside surrounding facility. ***Initial daily sanitation schedule of completed tasks, complete food defense weekly checklist and count for tools in toolbox register at end of shift. ***Manage supply crib inventory any request will need to be submitted in a timely manner to warehouse. ***Collect water sample once a week, calibrate pH meter three times a week to be compliance with the city of hood river. ***Actively supports all company sustainability initiatives. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet conditions with a wide range of temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to work in tight spaces, use ladders and work on uneven surfaces. The ability to frequently and safely lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. is required. Must be able to move equipment, dump trash. This is a full-time, non-exempt position fully on-site in Hood River, Oregon. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 PM to 4:00 AM. Travel between Hood River locations is frequent. No long-distance travel is expected for this position.
