The N921 Command Priorities Department, part of the National and Defense Intelligence Division, helps the Combatant Command Intelligence Directorates (J2) mitigate critical gaps and shortfalls, identify relevant emerging technologies, and create advanced solutions to address mission challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as a senior network engineer, working to resolve the most difficult mission challenges faced by the USINDOPACOM J2’s military and civilian staff. You will serve as a member of a team of MITRE professionals focused on identifying, evaluating, and implementing resilient joint intelligence communications systems to support modernization of the Combined and Joint C4ISR systems architecture across the USINDOPACOM theater. Additionally, you will work to ensure the USINDOPACOM intelligence enterprise is fully interoperable to support the mission, including partner capability integration. You will be assigned in direct support of the USINDOPACOM J26 Intelligence Systems Division, supporting efforts to evolve the intelligence baseline and modernize intelligence tools and tradecraft.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop novel approaches to increase resiliency of SATCOM and RF signals in contested and congested electromagnetic environments
Leverage the latest networking technology and communication data transports networks to provide diverse communication pathways and allow uninterrupted communications
Deliver recommendations for resilient C4ISR tactical communications deployment strategies
Establish redundant and resilient communications plans for Joint, Service, National, and Coalition C4ISR capabilities to support critical intelligence operations
Write test and evaluation plans, conduct experimentation, and deliver capability assessments of experimental architectures and assessment methodologies
Collaborate with Combat Support Agencies and Industry to provide network engineering recommendations on ISR data storage, processing, and dissemination strategies to enable machine learning and artificial intelligence
Develop theater intelligence architecture for Joint and Coalition ISR collections and targeting missions
Serve as a trusted advisor, recommending solutions to Command Intelligence analysis and dissemination challenges
Basic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain/maintain Polygraph
Requires minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years of experience with a master’s degree; or a Ph.D with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
A strong understanding of intelligence support to the warfighter, the organizations of the Intelligence community, and their responsibilities in support of intelligence collection, analysis, processing, and dissemination
Demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills
Strong organization skills with the ability to collaborate across a broad range of units in a fast-paced environment
This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
A clear understanding of the USINDOPACOM mission and related intelligence activities
Experience directly supporting and operating independently for a sponsor
MS in electrical engineering (or related science, technology, engineering, or math field)
Demonstrated technical skills as applied to intelligence communications requirements with a strong knowledge of the intelligence community, intelligence processes and architectures
Intelligence communications expertise to explore solutions to transport data, including TS/SCI, to the tactical edge
Knowledge of wideband SATCOM (X, Ku, Commercial and Military Ka), Radio Frequency (RF) expertise with the ability to architect, evaluate, and implement complex RF and SATCOM systems
Experience writing capability development requirements and rapid acquisition strategies
Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.), Cisco, Juniper, Security+ certifications
As part of MITRE’s Push to the Pacific initiative, employees hired to this requisition may be eligible to participate in a Hawaii Rotational Incentive program. For specific positions with high demand and difficult to fill skill sets, MITRE is proud to offer selected staff the opportunity to receive a 15% lump sum payment each year, for up to 3 years. The above figures are based on current base salary upon selection to the Hawaii Rotational Program, less tax withholding and other applicable deductions.
