[This is an entry level position. GP Energy Company LLC is seeking a team member who would like to be part of a fast-paced working environment with a family culture. We are willing to train an individual in the knowledge needed if the individual demonstrates and possesses the skills and abilities the position requires. The ability to model the interpersonal skills needed is crucial.

**[Position Summary: [The primary function of the Human Resources and Payroll Assistant is to help with all things Human Resources related. This position will join a small HR Team. The position will be the GP Energy Company LLC HR Representative, however, will assist with other neighbor island locations with HR initiatives. Job duties will include recruiting, assisting with employee inquiries, compliance reporting, FMCSA drug testing administration, employment verifications, benefit administration, employee training, drafting leave documents, distribution of payroll, workers' compensation administration, off boarding, generating reports, assisting with investigations, research, and other various HR initiatives. In addition, serve as payroll processing and benefit invoice reconciliation back-up, entering data in the HR/Payroll system, compile, complete, generate employee related reports, on-board new hires and provide other administrative support as needed.

  • Education - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in HR or related field with 1 year of experience in a role with similar responsibilities is preferred.
  • Technology - Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word processing, Excel with some use of formulas, tables including pivot tables and Power Point). General knowledge of working with database systems with prior experience working with HR/payroll system is preferred but not required. Ability to learn new software/programs and applications that relate to HR and Payroll is required.

``` - Human Resources and Payroll - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required. General knowledge and understanding of payroll principles, reconciliation, and auditing. General understanding and knowledge of Federal and State employment laws and an aptitude or interest in learning Human Resources and Payroll administration and employment law. Previous experience performing human resource duties is preferred but not required. - Communication - strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. Ability to speak to small groups and do general presentations and have difficult conversations. Must be okay with being in employee coaching meetings. The ability to maintain confidentiality is required. - Creative and problem-solving skills - Desire to find creative solutions to problems that affect employees and employers. - Analytical skills - ability to read the interrupt general employment related regulations and dig into details. - Customer service - provide high levels of internal customer service with a desire to be responsive and want to help people, and have the ability to identify when a higher level of assistance is needed and to ask for help. - Other skills and abilities - ability to multitask, prioritize to meet deadlines, willingness to continually learn, high level of patience, ability to teach others and r tain information, intellectually curious, organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, high level of attention to detail and accuracy, strong reading comprehension skills, ability to work independently or as a team player that works well with internal/external customers. Must have a strong work ethic and ability to take initiative, adaptability, be assertive, active listening skills, high emotional intelligence and morale character, ability to take direction, resourceful, basic math skills, and work with all individuals of differing backgrounds and styles. - Driver's license - type 3, safe driving record and ability to follow all driving laws and regulations.
