Planate Management Group LLC Hospital Facility Maintenance Supervisor in Honolulu, Hawaii

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hospital Facility Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and improve facility maintenance systems in various hospitals across the Pacific Islands. This role involves traveling extensively (50% of the year) to Pacific Island hospitals including Palau, Guam, Saipan, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Majuro, Ebeye, and American Samoa to understand local hospital situations, develop customized maintenance plans, and provide training to hospital staff.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to hospitals to assess facility maintenance operations and document needs.

  • Develop and implement tailored maintenance plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tools, supplies, repair work orders, and task assignments.

  • Evaluate and improve existing work order management systems or establish new systems as necessary.

  • Provide training and technical assistance to hospital staff on maintenance best practices.

  • Conduct follow-up visits to ensure the successful implementation of plans and procedures, revising them as needed.

  • Coordinate with hospital administrators and facility managers to schedule visits and ensure availability of key personnel.

    Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Must be able to travel extensively across the Pacific Islands and must be adaptable and willing to work in various cultural and infrastructural settings.

  • Practical knowledge of technical engineering and construction principles.

  • Proven experience in facility management, maintenance systems, or similar roles.

  • Ability to develop and adapt maintenance documentation, often in the absence of equipment manuals or when they are in foreign languages.

  • Strong training and mentorship skills.

  • Proficiency in grant writing or proposal development is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with the unique challenges of healthcare facility maintenance.
