Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
Our Orthopedics department is trained to handle the most common of injuries, from sprains, broken bones and sports injuries, to specialized conditions such as arthritis and congenital disorders. Our multi-disciplinary team includes fellowship-trained orthopedic physicians, rheumatologists, physical therapists, nurses and other health care providers that specialize in treating a wide range of injuries in children and adults.
As the Coordinator for Orthopedics, you will coordinate the scheduling and authorizations of preoperative appointments, surgeries and procedures at the request of surgeons, proceduralists, and other staff. In this role, you will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating complex scheduling, preparation, and authorization responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. One (1) year clerical support experience in a health care setting including medical insurance and collection experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in business administration or related field. Completion of a Medical Terminology course. Current ICD-10 and CPT coding certification. EPIC EHR experience.
