Job Summary:

Assist in the daily operations of the Human Resources department.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains, updates, and ensures accuracy of all department records with timeliness. This includes hard copy files, digital files and system information.

  • Coordinates and conducts full-cycle onboarding process.

  • Administers full cycle benefits and payroll processes.

  • Maintain and update various department reports. This includes internal and inter-department reports.

  • Promote employee safety, welfare, wellness and health in the workplace.

  • Coordinates community outreach efforts.

  • Assists in the planning and execution of all team meetings and trainings.

  • Assists with various HR projects and initiatives as directed.

    Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

  • High School diploma required, a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 1-2 years experience in human resources or related field.

  • Must maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professional discretion at all times.

  • Must be able to be lift/carry 25 pounds.

  • General knowledge, understanding and application of basic HR practices, State and Federal labor laws.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and HRIS data systems, such as Workday; Type 45 wpm; 10 key by touch.

  • Must demonstrate intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus, but not required.

  • Must demonstrate an ability to multi-task, communicate effectively both verbally and written, meet deadlines, have strong analytical, mathematical and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow departmental and company procedures accurately and efficiently.

  • Must effectively adapt to a changing environment and department needs. Must perform all duties with integrity and ensuring all company and department policies are adhered to. Must have the ability to work harmoniously in a team setting exhibiting the “Aloha Spirit” to fellow workers, guests, clients and the community so as to provide exceptional customer service while demonstrating behaviors that reflect the Hawai‘i Convention Center’s vision, mission statement and values.

Non-exempt hourly pay range $25 - $30 depending on experience.
