Queen's Health System Certified Physical Therapy Assistant - CareResource Hawaii (Full-Time, Day, 40) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist, implements progressive rehabilitation programs for patients in their homes in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and the patient’s needs.
• Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the agency.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Constant: reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion and frequent gripping of objects, lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force
• Frequent: standing, walking, stooping/bending, and twisting body.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Subjected to adverse environmental conditions like continuous exposure to blood borne pathogens.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Valid U.S driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance as required by Hawaii State Law.
• Driver’s abstract or evidence of good driving record.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice to treat patients.
• Knowledge and use of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and the public.
• Ability to operate various office equipment such as computers, calculator, copier facsimile, and shredder.
• Skills in problem identification and resolution.
