DESCRIPTION OF WORK Enhance the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable and courteous manner. Operate county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day. This is an opportunity to provide transportation service as well as social contact for our consumers (includes senior adults and wheelchair-dependent persons). Chance to work independently. Excellent communication skills required, both person to person and via two-way radio. Willingness and patience to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. Ability to easily adjust in daily schedule. Must be a people-person as you will be providing important assistance and socialization throughout the day.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: County position - Part-time, on-call employment (14-21+ hours per week). Transportation operates 4 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday & limited hours on Saturdays. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty;or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Condition of Employment: No suspension of driver's license within the last three years.

Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, & Wayne counties. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
