Job Title: Physical Substation Design Engineer
Job Description
We're seeking a detail-oriented, dedicated Physical Substation Design Engineer to join our team. Your main responsibilities will include the development of or revisions to existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangement, physical layout and sections, conduit and grounding, in coordination with CAD operators. You'll be tasked to develop physical design layouts and one-lines, physical equipment specifications, and project criteria. You'll also be responsible for creating project estimates using project scopes, developing design specifications including the overall bill of materials, assisting in the development of foundation drawings and Structural steel, and designing and sizing conduit, cable, and backup generators. Additionally, you'll be in charge of ordering long-lead item materials.
Hard Skills
Development of and/or revisions to existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangement, physical layout and sections, conduit and grounding
Develop physical design layouts and one-lines
Development of physical equipment specifications
Creation of project criteria
Develop project estimates utilizing project scopes
Development of design specifications including the overall bill of materials
Assist in the development of foundation drawings and Structural steel
Design and sizing of conduit, cable, and backup generators
Ordering long-lead item materials
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully remote position.
Work Environment
You will be joining the Substation Group, which consists of about 70 dedicated professionals. The team is divided fairly evenly between Physical and P&C. Members of the P&C group have the opportunity to work fully remotely.
