Alaska Beauty Peony Cooperative Farms Local Market Manager - Peonies in Homer, Alaska

Employment Details:
- Fresh cut peonies are kept in a 34-degree cooler to maintain a tight bud stage for optimal overnight shipping and local markets. While working in the cooler to pull orders, proper winter gear is required.
- A stem cutter is used to prep local orders and training is required prior to use.
- Hours are 20 hours or more a week.
- Hours are tracked via spreadsheet and paid bi-weekly.
- The salary starts at $18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience. We will pay above this rate for a highly qualified candidate.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Computer skills to handle data entry, printing of orders, and order details.
- Communication skills to voice noted concerns or ideas for improving workflow.
- Vehicle needed for local markets and deliveries.
- Prior experience with fresh cut peonies is a plus .
Job Description:
Local Market Pop-up and Sales Duties: (Multiple Locations)
- Prep and pack items for local and farmers market events. (Homer Farmers Market is on Saturdays and Wednesdays)
- Set up a booth with merchandise and fresh peonies.
- Greet and assist customers with questions. (Smile )
- Process sales with Shopify Point of Sale (POS) for local sales of flowers and merchandise.
- Communicate with General Manager or designated staff for additional inventory needed throughout event day.
- Break down and pack up items from pop-up or farmers market to be transported back to packhouse.
- Restock items in totes for next market day.
Local Deliveries: (Homer Area)
- Deliver orders to local businesses and customers.
- Pick up buckets or wash from previous weeks deliveries and quality check in peonies still for sale in locations.
