Changing Tides Therapy Services is seeking a skilled and passionate Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our clinic, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families while enjoying a supportive and positive work environment.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current and valid Alaska license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and comply with State of Alaska licensure requirements.
  • Certification: Active NBCOT certification and in good standing
  • Passion for Pediatric Care: Demonstrated dedication and enthusiasm for working with children and helping them reach their functional goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and team members.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adjust treatment plans based on individual client needs and progress.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy to understand and support the unique challenges children and their families may face.
  • Creativity: Capacity to develop engaging and fun therapy sessions that motivate children to actively participate in their treatment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervision: collaborate with assigned Occupational Therapist surrounding treatment provision.
  • Therapy Sessions: Provide engaging and effective occupational therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques and play-based interventions.
  • Progress Monitoring: Work with assigned Occupational Therapist to regularly monitor and document a child's progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Family Collaboration: Involve families in the therapy process, providing support, education, and guidance to extend therapeutic gains into daily routines.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with other therapists and professionals within the clinic and community to provide integrated care and interdisciplinary support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of daily treatment sessions.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pediatric occupational therapy through continuing education and training.
